Triple M footy lives on, listener. Thanks to McDonald's and Ream Hot Water. Triple M NRL Daily for Liquorland. Legendary. Choose to drink wise.
Here we go!
The NRL is on Triple M. How about that? And we've got all the goss. Behind the scenes news on and off the field. From press conferences to inside the locker rooms. I love being a part of it. I'm feeling real at the moment. It's a tough game to play. Massive responsibility. A really good chance. On Triple M, this is NRL Daily. Welcome to Triple M NRL Daily here on your Wednesday, which means the journos are in two of the absolute best in rugby league journalism. The great Danny Wyler, the great Adam Pengilly. How are you, boys?
So we're not legends today. That's been dropped. That's off your run sheet.
Yeah, well, apparently no one's a legend in this world, according to you boys. The only people that are legends are the team at Liquorland, allegedly. Well, we'll take that. I'm actually tired. It's been a big few days. Big few days. Adam, you're fresh. No, I'm good. I feel good, Danny.
I'm just concerned about you two. It's a big downgrade having Tommy Turbo last week and having to bring me back this week.
You know, this is a bit of a star maker podcast. Adam Peacock's gone on to huge things at SEN. The bloke used to sit there, now causing havoc for the Chiefs and the rest of the rugby league world. So Adam could be, who knows? You haven't had any approaches from the Bears, have you?
No, no approaches from the Bears, but there's a few jobs gone over there, I believe.
Plenty. Who knows? Tom Travojevic blew our salary cap as well, so we're going to have to just do our best for the rest of the year.
He was very good last week, and Danny asked some very pointed questions. I listened. It was excellent.
We got good reactions from him. He was good. I think he sees himself. doing some more media down the track. And Charlie, another one for you to put in your stable maybe. Definitely.
Well, he had a couple of mates message me and go, oh, they saw the video of Tom taking the piss out of Kieran Ford. And they're like, oh, I hadn't seen that side of Tom George. Well, he's funny. And I was like, yeah, he's a great show.
And his manager even said it was brought out a side that he really liked seeing. So shout out to Tommy.
Yeah, he's got a future in it for sure. Well, let's just get straight in, boys, to Jerome Luai. Now, he's spoken this morning. We have a bit of audio that we're going to play. So I'll actually play that first and then we'll start talking about it.
It's a tricky one. Two different situations. And I'm going to be an adult about it and not drag Lockie into something that he's not a part of. He's got a big part to play in his own team now. But it's two different situations, bro. And I know the team first thing is getting thrown around a bit. I'm here for 18 months, man. And I live and breathe team first. My brothers know that. They're happy for me and my family. And... this club will be in a great position when I leave. That's probably what got the conversation started, but it's not what got the deal signed and delivered, you know, so unless you get over there, experience it for yourself, yeah, you won't really know yet.
So there he is, Jerome Luai, a $1.3 million a year tax-free deal, three-year deal, just big, big news, Danny, and he spoke really well this morning.
Well, Jerome always handles himself well in front of the cameras and the microphones. I think that You know, when he was coming up, there was a perception that he was arrogant and all this kind of thing, but I've never found him to be that. And I've always found him to be a good man and a man of his word and someone who I've always been impressed with. He hasn't always said the right things that make everybody happy, but he's been himself. And that's the best thing that anybody can be. Like, as long as he's true to himself, and I think he's been that. And he handles, yeah, he handles those situations really well. And it's just an amazing story, you know. I sort of started to become aware of –
