Hi, I'm Dr. Barry Prazant, clinical scholar, researcher, and consultant on autism and neurodiversity, and a Brooklyn boy raised in the big city. And
I'm Dave. I'm none of those things, and I grew up on a farm in Illinois. But being on the spectrum myself, I have plenty of personal insight to lend.

Uniquely human the podcast, a show that illuminates and celebrates autism and neurodiversity.
Uh wanted to just give a uh another shout out to our uh newest partner, AEP Connections. Uh AEP Connections, uh for our listeners, by the way, is just this uh really awesome it's kind of like a neurodiversity centric hub for professionals, you know, educators, clinicians, um uh families, individuals to uh basically learn and and uh access subject matter experts from all the different uh avenues into autism and neurodiversity. Um you go online, you can participate in webinars, uh exchange ideas, and so on and even uh professional continuing education units. These are it's it's a source for that for professionals. Um, yes, I've had the pleasure of working with AEP in the past, and coming up, actually on April 10th, um, I will be doing a webinar on uh neurodiversity and uh a topic that I'm speaking frequently on these days. But what's also exciting is another of the upcoming presentations through AEP are former guests on the episodes of Uniquely human. And that includes Kelly Mahler on April 15th and Peter Vermullian on April 29th. So once again go to AEP Connections website. on Uniquely Human the Podcast we are thrilled and honored to welcome Doctor Ross Green. Uh Ross, welcome and it's been just too long for us to get together.
No doubt about it. I don't know why our paths have not crossed more frequently up until now, but here we are and I appreciate you inviting me to do this.
Oh certainly. So, just a little bit about you. Dr. Ross Green is a clinical child psychologist. He's the author of several books on child behavior, including The Explosive Child, Lost at School, Lost and Found, and Raising Human Beings. Very importantly, Ross originated the evidence-based collaborative and proactive solutions model of intervention. And he's also the founder of the nonprofit Lives Innovation. In the balance. And we'll be talking a little bit more about an upcoming summit during our chat. He's been working with children and families for 30 to 40 years. And his influential work is widely known throughout the world. As a matter of fact, at conferences that I have the pleasure of speaking at, very often when there are panels afterwards, parents and psychologists
And educators always bring up your work. So it's it's it's it's wonderful. It's wonderful. Right um so our listeners always are interested a little bit in the background of our esteemed guests. Um so what led you to focus on supporting uh behaviorally challenged kids and other neurodivergent students?
