Chapter 1: What are Amber's plans for Dancing with the Stars?
This is a Global Player original podcast.
Hello and welcome to Amber Vogue, the bonus, the bonus episode. Amber, I feel such pride in you. You know that? It's like I'm your mother and you're doing, like, I know we spoke about you doing Dancing with the Stars, but it is just a very exciting time for me to watch you dance.
publicly humiliate yourself I was wondering where you were going with that always good no I think that you're going to be brilliant I think that you have shown vast improvements to what I did when I first did the show and I think that I think you put a lot of effort into it and we're all very excited and very happy for you thank you if I could just tell my face to look like it's having fun then I think we'd be on to a winner yeah the face I had issues with the face as well
No, no, no. My partner looked at videos of you and she said you were very, very good. And she said that you always had a smile plastered across your face. I look like I'm in pain and it's extremely obvious. I'm super expressive when I get something wrong. So I need to just add some animation as if I'm like a cartoon character or something.
And then I think I'll be able to distract away from what my feet are getting wrong.
Now, I know I'm coming to see you in the new year. So are you booking my flights or am I paying for that?

Chapter 2: How does Vogue feel about Christmas and taking breaks?
Get the bleeding boat. I'll pay for your boat, your sail and rail. No, not to the sail and rail. Those days are gone. That's when I used to sneak Winnie back to Ireland, but I didn't use to sneak him. He used to be able to take dogs back to Ireland. I am taking Winston back to Ireland, actually. Oh, poor Winnie.
We're having a cousin's lunch on Friday and I'm flying in and out for it because I missed the last thing and I think that...
sometimes you got to make the effort and I have Winston's ashes and I like I I told you to bring them to Scotland because he did like being up there but then I was like I'm gonna put them in my favorite place in the world because he's my favorite number one ever dog and I do adore Bertie I adore him but sometimes in life you have a dog that is very special that touches your heart and that was Winston and listen to this I'm gonna plant a tree and I'm gonna put Winnie's ashes
At the tree. In the ground, where you put the tree. So he will turn into a tree. So it will be, the tree will be called Winston because he will be in it. It'll be the saddest looking tree you've ever seen in your life. He did look depressed all the time, didn't he?
He didn't look too happy. He just never... And the little... Oh, his puppy dog eyes. He was such a sweet little dog.

Chapter 3: What is the story behind the nativity play gone wrong?
I know. When I was in Australia, I was like, God, I could get another Winston because that's where Winston came from. That's where they do those beagle ear dogs. Beagle ears.
Yeah.
Poor Winnie. Oh, poor Windsor. So, I mean, this is the bonus episode. We're not going to get too much into it, but we are going to be taking, because Amber and I don't usually take breaks in the pod. Joanne and I take a break every 12 weeks.
We take a two week break, but Amber and I are going to be having our first ever break because it's Christmas time and it will mark a year since you came onto the pod. A year. How long have we been taking a break for? It's like a week.
A week, yeah.
Something.

Chapter 4: Did Amber have similar experiences with school plays?
Christmas is my only time in the entire calendar year that I will get left alone for between seven and 10 days. I won't be asked to do anything by anyone. And it is a joyous experience. And that is why I mainly look forward to Christmas. But I do love, we're going to get more Christmassy in on the main, but like there's so many nice things I love around Christmas.
I'm very much looking forward to the break, for sure. And taking it easy and trying to infuse my body with some flexibility.
You're going away with the wrong group if you think you're taking it easy. I've already been having words with myself like, I'm just not going to get involved with them. I'm just going to do my own thing. I'm knowing I'm going to.
I'm happy if we have two mad nights in Spain. That's my cup is full. Two mad nights in a week? That's too many mad nights. I think it will be a lot of fun.
I feel bad for mom. She's not really up to much at the moment with her broken shoulder. Well, that's fine because she's not going to be doing much when we're there anyway. It's not like she's cooking. My mom doesn't even put up a tree anymore. She has gone full Grinch mode. I was looking forward to playing golf with her. Bonding time, you know. I'm with a golfer now, we have.
Okay, well, will we get into a little bit of the bonus? And I have to say, listeners, I do look at the bonus doc and I'm like, I miss our game. You miss faking it? Yeah, I miss faking it. But anyway, it was voted upon and I am not... Like any dictator, I am.
Well, maybe we could do a little sneaky, a sneaky surprise one for the record next week.
No, the listeners voted, Amber, so it's not a surprise because you just told them. Yeah, but it was like, it was 51 to 49. Okay, why don't you tell the divorce referendum in Ireland that it was 51 to 49 and see if everyone's okay with not having divorce be legalized.
Okay, okay, okay, okay. Fair point, fair point.

Chapter 5: What dilemma does a listener face regarding a mother-in-law?
Let's get into it. This one is from Rian. It's called Nativities. Dear Vogue, Amber and Imagina. It was my daughter's nativity this week and she played Mary. Wow.
Chapter 6: How do Vogue and Amber respond to the listener's situation?
Sorry. Congratulations. Oh. I was over the moon with pride. My little girl had got the big one. She was going to be a star of stage. That was until she decided she was too hot in her blue Mary robe and started stripping on stage until she was just sat in her little pants and vest. Oh, the poor little pants. The teachers were scrabbling. The parents were laughing and I was sat head in hands.
I thought our family was on the up.
Chapter 7: What are the implications of choosing an Irish baby name?
I was a sheep in my nativity, but clearly not. And I don't think you should be asked to be merry again. I'm expecting a tree or something next year. Did you do nativity plays in Ireland growing up? And what did you play? Do you remember? Love, Rhiann.
Well, come here, don't forget, that's Gigi's favourite outfit when she gets home from school, a pair of leggings and a vest.
I know. Gigi used to be like that. Whenever she had her school play, she would always, always cry in nursery and we'd have to take her off the stage. Then she got a bit of bite in her and she was staying on stage in her school. But Otto did his play there and he was very good. He was a bear. I was once... He knows how to growl. Yeah. I don't remember what I was.
You probably weren't involved because you just weren't talented enough.
I was part of the production crew.
Amber was on lighting I once there was a school play on the Jungle Book in our school and it was when I was in it was when we were in our first primary school and I was St Marnix it was called and I was oh maybe it was in the Borough School and it was a mixed school and someone was vying for the role of Baloo the bear it was it was in the Borough School and it was out of the boys and the girls and it was whoever had the deepest voice and guess who won
Yeah. Now I'm the king of the swingers, the jungle VIP.
I think both of our voices broke. Like even listen to me now. You reckon they broke? I honestly, all I remember is when we were in Girls Brigade and I remember we were dressing up as kangaroos and Naomi got the chicken wire and she made a great... And the brown tights.
Yeah, a really great tale for us. We were the stars of the show. That's the only thing we remember because that's the only thing I remember about Girls For Great. Did we do anything else in there or that was just it? That's all we remember. It's a shared memory. But sometimes you have the same memory as somebody or sometimes you steal someone else's memory for your memory.

Chapter 8: What advice do Vogue and Amber give about family boundaries?
Love the pod and you smash it in the jungle, Vogue. Were you watching the same jungle as... I don't know. You did smash it, Vogue. I was third out. I'm writing in because I really need some outside perspective on a situation that's causing tension between me and my wife. Yeah. We then got together, including the sneaking around before telling people.
She told me she doesn't want me traveling one-to-one with this manager at all. I completely understand where she's coming from emotionally, but this is genuinely part of my job and saying no could make me look unprofessional or difficult at work. I've reassured my wife repeatedly, but she stood firm that this crosses a boundary for her.
So my question is, am I wrong for thinking this boundary is unreasonable? Should I accept it to keep the peace? Or is it the kind of thing where trust needs to override discomfort? How do I navigate respecting her feelings without jeopardising my career? Please keep me in on from a fellow gay XXX.
Oh, I thought it was a man. I was like, oh my God, they've got a straight man on the pod.
No, I knew it was. This is a tricky one because it is...
This would be a hard no for me, by the way. I don't know if it's just me being stubborn, but no, I think I think it's valid.
I think it's valid the way if you're if you're in agreement. And I do think it's fair enough, like putting down that boundary based on previous experience. Oh, no, sorry.
I'm coming at it at the other angle from you. Like, if Svenny told me that I couldn't, like, work with a man or something like that because he felt uncomfortable, I'd be like, Svenny, come on. Now, what have I done to him? The question is, have you done something to make her feel uncomfortable? Or is this coming... But that's how they got together. Yeah, well...
I mean, yeah, but that doesn't mean that like, so what if they got together for that reason? It doesn't mean that you get with everybody that you go away with like that.
