So yesterday we had an outstanding conversation about imposter syndrome, what it is, how to face it, that inner self-talk, the language we use with ourselves to build ourselves up when facing uh those those moments of self-doubt. An absolute outstanding episode. If you didn't get a chance to listen to it, please go back. Tasman's recommendations are very clear. They're they're organized and and I really genuinely want any SEO who who who's listening to this episode to go back and probably re-listen to some of those recommendations. They will help you, as all of us face imposter syndrome at some point or another. Those tactics are going to be incredibly valuable to persevering through it. Today we're talking about resilience, and we kind of ended our last episode on resilience.
Jordan Cooney 2:31
In in in in our changing environment. And obviously, there's so much changing right now. We've got AI being thrown at us, more core updates in a year than you can imagine. We still have bosses and management that do not understand SEO. Some things don't change. So the reality is that there's change is almost inevitable. And and the concept of building resilience in that is critical to not only your professional success, but your personal success. Casmin, give us a little bit of context or perspective in this topic and and really where you see the challenges for the SEO community in building. their capabilities around resilience.
Tazmin Suleman 3:16
You know, I I was on a podcast talking about mental health with an SEO um agency owner. And the agency owner said a phrase that stuck in my mind. He said, Resilience is like an elastic band. The more you lose use it, the less give it has. You know, it just falls apart. And I challenged him on that and said, No, maybe resilience is like a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it gets, if you feed it the right stuff. And by that it is optimism, it is chatter, which we've talked about before. So if you say, Oh no, you know, I've got that wrong again, or they um didn't like my recommendations again, or you keep on saying that. You're more like an elastic band. I feel like we glamorize failure. So we talk about, oh you know, that actor he was rejected seventy times before he got to that blockbuster or that author's book was rejected
Tazmin Suleman 4:23
fifty times or whatever the story, you know, we glamorize it. To go through it is a very different story. You know, when we're going through it, it hurts. So being able to say to yourself, okay, I wanted to go and do some public speaking and that time, you know, I forgot my words or I did this and I did that.
