One word that best describes Reddit in this new AI discovery world.
Jordan Cooney 0:52
Weird. I can't leave it there. I just can't, I can't leave it there. So weird. Okay. I love it. Um, with you on that uh to a huge extent. Um, one of the other questions I wanted to ask you earlier, uh, in this same vein is do you feel like Reddit in this new AI response world is gonna continue to grow its audience, to grow contributors and people who want to talk on Reddit, or will people just fuel their answers? Basically, through AI responses and not need to engage on Reddit for more detail or substance. But on the same vein of this AI discovery, like basically, like it's kind of like the death of Reddit by by virtue of LLMs. Um, so that's part of my question in terms of weird. But then also, why why is this weird?
Jordan Cooney 1:41
Why is it so transformative for you as of a word to describe? Describe this current state for Reddit.
Danny Kirk 1:48
Boy, that's a that's a hard one. Um, I do think more and more people so why do we why do we think that um AI search is gonna win over Google? Nobody has a personal relationship with Google. We all know now that people are falling in love with AI, that they it has a voice, a literal voice. It's talking to them, it's coaching them. So yeah, when it asks what's what's their best luggage for X, Y, and Z trip and it recommends that, they're emotionally tied to that answer. So People are going to be using that more and more. I actually do think that the number of total Reddit users relative to their total usage, so like say numbers of posts and comments, I actually think that's going to go down over time. That's going to consolidate because a lot of people are just going to be like, all right, um, AI search, I just trust that.

You know, I have my my friend over here that gives the advice.

Time for a one-minute break to hear from our sponsor, Previsible. So you're looking for SEO help, then you got a couple of options. You could start replying to spam from agencies that claim they can get you to rank number one on Google. You can pay an hourly rate for a consultant who will inevitably nickel and dime you with hourly charges, or you can work with a cookie cutter agency to quickly launch a strategy-less project with low success rate. None of those sound very good. Now do they? Well, that's where Previsible's integrated consulting model comes in.

Why does Danny Kirk describe Reddit as a ‘weird’ but powerful AI discovery source?

Unknown 3:11

But I do think the um it'll consolidate to people that are the true fans of Reddit, the the super users, the ones that are the best actors on the platform, brands that are willing to play the long game on there.
