The days of just a, you know, article exchange or blog post exchange are are gone because you as you said in the episode yesterday, you can just put a prompt into any of these systems, any of these LLMs, and voila, you have you have a po you have a blog post. The reality is that you have to innovate beyond that. And if if you missed our episode yesterday, please go back. And um very quickly, Stefan There's been a lot of talk on this podcast about brands using AI to build up their corporate or their business brand to effectively be present in in in placements like Chat GPT prompts or um verticalized LLM based search experiences. And so there's a lot of talk about how businesses and companies can do that. But today we're talking about personal brand and how personal brands Can build up their presence through AI. Love to start off this episode. by really understanding why is it so critical to build your personal brand? What is the value behind that? For a lot of our listeners, especially those who are just getting their career started. I think it's really important to understand the value of this exercise before we go into the utility of of AI for it.
Stefan Spencer 3:13
Yeah. Great question. Think about this. Like your personal brand is the only brand that you have from cradle to grave. At some point, if you have a business, you have something that you will part with. Because it's not a business if you can't sell it. It's it's self-employment. And that's the worst kind of employment because self-employment, you pay yourself the worst, you pay yourself last, you you you work yourself the hardest, much more so than any other employee. So you want to have a business, which means that It's an asset. It's an asset that has value if you were to sell it and walk away. If you have to go with it, then you're self-employed. So your personal brand, you get to keep after you have that exit.
Stefan Spencer 4:03
So I had a successful exit in 2010, and uh, you know, the the acquiring agency was surprised that after my My earnout check cleared six months later, I said I'm leaving. But I I couldn't imagine being employed. I mean, I'm unemployable. Most entrepreneurs think of themselves as unemployable. So you need to nurture and build this personal brand so that you can continue to stay relevant and um important as things evolve.
