Hello SEOs and marketers. My name is Jordan Cooney from Pre Invisible. Joining me today is Kyle Roof. Who is the co-founder of Page Optimizer Pro, a cutting edge tool that enhances content performance and boosts search engine rankings? Yesterday, Kyle and I talked about SEO in the age of AI. Today, we're going to continue our conversation by discussing the skills to succeed in SEO and AI. Okay, here's my conversation with Kyle Roof, the co-founder at Page Optimizer Pro. Kyle, welcome back to the Voice of Search Podcast. Thanks for having me. Happy to be here again. Yeah, so yesterday was a lot of fun. We we kind of went in pretty broad in terms of the conversation of where SEO and AI are meeting. We talked about both Google and the SERP and how they're leveraging AI to build richer experiences.
Obviously. For your parents, although they never notice it. I feel I I empathize with you 100% because I I have the exact same conversations with my folks, but also about how AI is being levered by brands, by companies, by SEOs, and what's necessary or what is a good experience within that realm is was part of our conversation yesterday. If you missed it, please go back and grab some of these insightful recommendations. From Kyle. I really find that the perspective that Kyle has is one that many of us in the SEO world need to really adhere to because it is truly one that helps us have better conversations around what we do, which is what today is about. It's about the skills, the processes, and the efforts that we put in to be successful in SEO and AI.
And as we get into this, I'd love to get your perspective from Page Optimizer Pro. You all get to work with a lot of different clients, you all get to crunch a lot of data. You mentioned in a previous episode that you have a patent on evaluating ranking factors. So as we think about these skills, what are some of the priorities or what are some of the the key areas of focus that we should be taking into account as the SEO community? Don't overthink it.
I really don't don't overthink it. I I run into so many times where maybe somebody will want me to come in and consult on a project. And the very first thing I'll start to look at are page titles and I'll start to look at subheadings and I'll start to look at just some basic internal linking, you know, where you're keeping some concepts together and maybe a cluster. And it's amazing to me how many times you'll see really great SCP. CEOs do really good work, except that foundationally they missed some of those points and then they're wondering why it's not working. And it's because they skipped, you know, to step fifty and and they missed those first few very important steps. Don't try to outclever Google.
Don't try to outclever your your your uh potential visitors to your site. You know, people are not that smart by and large, and neither is Google. You know, like when it comes when it comes down to it, you need to make it as clear and as simple and as straightforward as possible.
Why are page titles, headings, and internal linking the first SEO fundamentals to check?
Don't overthink it. And if you you know, if you have a target keyword, which is, you know, a main concept for a page, this is the thing that you want to when somebody searches for a particular thing, you want them to you want your page to show up for that. It needs to be in the in the title tag and it needs to be in the H one. And it needs to be on the page. I don't know how many people have told me that in the in the uh world of AI that that doesn't matter anymore.
