Should I kill my blog because AI overviews are stealing traffic?

Jordan Cooney 0:43
All right, next question. When a client asks if they should kill their blog because AI overviews is taking all of their traffic, what do you actually tell them?
Lindsie Nelson 0:53
Absolutely not. We need to continue to build information to educate these systems, or we will never be surfaced.
Jordan Cooney 1:01
Is there is there a new trigger of quality for this editorial kind of content in this AI discovery world? Is there like a new set of standards or requirements to make really useful content that we really haven't been doing in the past decade because there's so much blog content out there?
Lindsie Nelson 1:18
So much junk. Um I couldn't read another listicle in my life, I think, at this point.

Why is human‑centric, customer‑focused content more important than SEO tool checklists?

Jordan Cooney 1:25
Right.
Lindsie Nelson 1:25
I I do. I really think, and again, as a positive look of where we're going, having human-centric content. So my number one focus right now is I want to talk to sales teams. What are your customers or potential customers asking and saying? I care way more about that content than this stuff that, you know, SEMrush tells me I'm missing on my site because everybody's writing that. I wanna write for our customers and I think from an SEO and a GEO perspective, writing for humans is way more important than it ever has before, which is it's a good thing.

How can I use AI agents for competitive analysis while still validating with humans?

Jordan Cooney 2:01
Yeah, absolutely. I think the the human factor and really testing that in your in your editorial process is is not easy work, right? Like and it requires a willingness to be iterative, right? Does a table work better than a chart? Does a, you know, an image or a graphic work better than a video? And and we don't we don't test enough our editorial content. We simply just we just kind of, you know, set it and forget it.

What testing methods improve editorial performance (tables vs. charts, images vs. video)?

Jordan Cooney 2:24
And it's just simply not good enough.
Lindsie Nelson 2:26
Hundred percent.
Jordan Cooney 2:27
