When you first faced the choice to go full-time on your startup, was it a relief?
Jon Levesque 0:51
Or panic.

How does the guest describe the panic and emotional reaction when deciding to go full‑time on the startup?

Jon Levesque 0:53
Well, uh, you know, referring to earlier the layoff, it was panic, man. I I even I put a video on my YouTube. I got a YouTube channel. I put a video on my YouTube. I just I don't know, I felt compelled. I turned on the camera like two hours after it happened, and I just talked to the camera about it. And then I did it again a day later and a week later and a month later. And you can like see my journey. It was tough, man. Like I was crying. I was a mess.

What turning point helped the guest shift from panic to a proactive mindset?

Jon Levesque 1:20
I was like, this is bullshit. Like, you know, like I was unprepared. I was not prepared. But I don't know, very quickly, you see it also in that video. Very quickly, I came around and I said, you know what? I'm gonna make the most of this. Like this to me is a message that that I wasn't meant to be there, that I was meant to be in this free fall right now.

Time for a one-minute break to hear from our sponsor, Previsible. So you're looking for SEO help, then you got a couple of options. You could start replying to spam from agencies that claim they can get you to rank number one on Google. You can pay an hourly rate for a consultant who will inevitably nickel and dime you with hourly charges, or you can work with a cookie cutter agency to quickly launch a strategy-less project with low success rate.

How does the guest use the ‘free‑fall’ metaphor to explain decision‑making in a startup?

Unknown 2:06
None of those sound very good. Now do they? Well, that's where Previsible's integrated consulting model comes in. Previsible draws from a collective 40 years of SEO and digital marketing experience to unlock your organic growth opportunities. They build custom solutions that combine strategy, technical expertise, content, and reporting to effectively operationalize SEO for your business. Pre-Visible's four-stage approach ensures that your SEO programs thrive. By starting off with a strategy first approach. Then they support you in your efforts to create quality content, help you identify technical issues, and most importantly, they'll work with your cross-functional teams to integrate your SEO strategies to make sure that your SEO budget actually drives results, not just your agency's bottom line.

What final reflections does the guest share about betting on himself and the outcome?

Unknown 3:05
Io.
Jon Levesque 3:10
But Free fall is beautiful in the way that you gotta make it make a decision real quick, right? Like, are you gonna guide the fall? Are you gonna spread out and try and slow it down? You just gonna dive towards the ground, you're gonna try and find out, right? Like there's there's those decisions, and and I think that that it was beautiful for me in the way of it helped me catalyze that everything I was doing was the right thing. Bet on myself and on this thing. And so, yeah, scary at first, but you know, turned out okay. Turned out okay.
Jordan Cooney 3:45
