Hello SEOs and marketers. My name is Jordan Cooney from Previsible. And joining me today is Stan Golovchek, who is the senior SEO manager at Raisin. Raisin offers a user-friendly platform that allows consumers to easily compare and invest in various savings products, providing a convenient way to grow your savings. Yesterday, Stan and I talked about localizing content for quick wins on sister sites. Today we're going to continue. continue the conversation by discussing why content guides are better than blogs. Okay, here's my conversation with Stan Galovchuk, the SEO manager at Raisin. Stan, welcome back to the Voices Search podcast.
Hey Jordan.
Great to see you again. Likewise. So yesterday I felt our conversation was incredibly valuable. And and and here's why. We don't often get to have conversations with SEOs who work on content in different markets and regions and have a really valuable set of insights on how and where and when you invest in moving content, say from the US to Germany, from Austria to say The Netherlands. And I think it's really interesting for our listeners to get that perspective because it adds a ton of value into some of the conversations you might have as you plan your content calendars, as you think about topics, as you do discovery around the insights you're gathering from a competitive lens, from an internal performance lens.
All of this really helps our listeners become better and more effective SEOs. And I think opens a door in a conversation that often they're not having. For today though, we're going into to blogs and why guides are a better source of content.
How does Stan describe Raisin’s business model and content strategy?
I I think there there might be some debate on this. I I I'm gonna first of all argue that there's probably a 10,000 X more blog posts than guides on the internet. You correct me if I'm wrong.
Oh, I'm certain that that's true. And I think for a long time we've been operating under the belief that if you want to perform well and organic, you want to drive traffic for a variety of of informational content, you have to be writing blogs. And you know, today what I want to talk about is how that advice is vague. The word blog doesn't really mean anything, and there's a way to be much more strategic with the type of content that you're writing to actually get the results. results that you need to get your website to grow.
Yeah. And so for our listeners who missed yesterday's episode, uh, can you tell them a little bit about Raisin, uh what you do there, and then and then maybe the specifically like the the types of content and at least informational content since we're talking about guides and blogs that you all produce in the company.
Sure. Raisin is a savings marketplace. We have business in the United States and across Europe, including UK, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, and it's a growing list of countries where we have partnerships with banks where we connect consumers with different types of financial instruments and protected insured bank accounts. So once upon a time, you had to go downtown to find a savings account. account and maybe compare interest rates against what was available to you locally with Raisin, our website or our app, you can actually compare interest rates with our bank partners from all across the country and uh save your money safely and securely with FDIC Insured.
Accounts. And with respect to content, what what kind of content assets and investments do you guys make, especially informative content specifically?
