I haven't had many guests from the bariatric community on the show so far, so it's always extremely interesting and insightful to learn more about this method of losing weight. I think for many who have no first hand experience with weight loss surgery (WLS), it can be viewed as an "easy" way to lose weight. This couldn't be further from the truth, and today Martin shares the reality of this procedure. I learn how Martin's life as a lorry driver created health issues for him, which combined with being overweight lead to serious risks. He said himself that if he hadn't of taken action when he did, he doubts he would be here today. We talk about the challenges being overweight can create, and how mental health can be impacted. Martin is open and honest about his struggles and it was extremely inspiring to hear how he far he has come in the last two years.
