Danielle gave birth to her first, and maybe only, baby during the COVID-19 pandemic. Danielle had the birth she had planned for - unmedicated with the support of her husband, Michael, and doula, Helen. She shares how she loved being pregnant, but being pregnant during the pandemic kept her from sharing the journey with her closest family and friends. Danielle is positive for the BRCA gene which puts her at a 98% risk for developing breast cancer and a 70% risk of developing ovarian cancer. In 2015 Danielle had a bilateral mastectomy and at 37 she plans a complete hysterectomy including removal of her ovaries and fallopian tubes.
