This is your town. This is your station. This is Waitley. Yes, good morning again, everybody. Adam White filling in for Gerard on this Wednesday edition of Waitley. And before we get to our next guest, just a couple of temper texts that have come through. How exciting is it to have the PM's 11 game at the Junction Oval in 2027 under the lights against England prior to the MCG clash in March? They'll be hanging in the trees around Fitzroy Street. Expect a full house against New Zealand's women's team as well a few days prior. That is going to be really interesting this summer to see cricket played under lights at Junction Oval. The lights are now officially up. There's going to be plenty of WBBL games there as well across the course of the summer.
But also... I think it's still going to be the same despite all the issues going on in the BBL, but I think the Melbourne Stars are going to be playing a game at Junction Oval in the BBL as well. So that will be very interesting indeed, just to see what it looks like with a packed house under lights because it's something we've never seen before. Anyway, thank you for all your temper texts coming through 40 Winks. A great night's sleep, night after night after night. That is the difference. The difference is temper. We'll get back to more of those shortly and also the open line. Thank you for your contributions already today. 1-300-736-736, the Belgravia open line, Belgravia Apparel Delivering. But we've got a special guest on the line for Alex Scott and staff to sell your livestock or sell your home. He's from Melbourne. His name is Colton Tolstrop, and he's fresh off a break, fresh off turning 21. Colton, welcome and happy birthday.
Yeah, thanks, mate. I appreciate it, mate. It's good to be on the call.
How long was it since you were 21? It's not that long ago, was it? During your break.
Oh, fuck. Yeah, Sunday, mate. So a few days, feeling like the frontal lobes finally developing, which is cool, mate. Feeling mature.
What did you do for your 21st?
Not too much over here. Went for a dinner with the household that I live with. But yeah, as you said, mate, fortunate to have the break at a perfect time. So when I was back home on the farm, mate, I had dinner with the fam, which was good. So I got to spend it nicely there.
Excellent. Now, you had your break really late. You're the last of the teams to have the bye. Did you feel that the team needed it? You needed it personally?
Well, I probably didn't need it as much as some of the older boys. I'm a bit younger, so the body's a bit nicer. But, yeah, it did feel like it went for a while and got a bit of a stretch. But, yeah, mate, coming back since the bye, everyone's got a good smile on their faces. Everyone feels nice and refreshed. So, yeah. yeah, it did, it did take a while to get around, but, uh, yeah, happy. It's happy. We've had it now.
You've been on this sort of magic carpet ride throughout the course of the year under your new coach and everything going so well. I guess the other side of it is you didn't want to stop considering how well things have been going this year. You want the momentum to continue.
Yeah, exactly. Uh, yeah, we've had a, we've had a pretty good year, uh, to date, mate. Um, can't complain to you. A few good wins, which is, uh, which has been nice to Jay. Um, But it's always good to have a break, refresh the mind, the body and yeah, really set us up well to attack the back end of the year. So yeah, we're all quite excited.
Has Stephen King got you together and I don't know whether you reset goals or have a bit of a mini season between now and the start of the finals? How do you reset to get yourself through this next phase of the season? What have you done? What are the themes?
Yeah, we sort of just did like a mid-season review almost and We looked at some points in our game that were doing quite well and some things in our game that we might need to freshen up on and work on. As a lot of people know, Kingy's taken a lot of anxiety out of our program and made the footy club so special to be around.
