What was the opening agenda and purpose of the Managers Meeting?
Yeah, I can go. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Thank you. Can you hear me online? They can't. I'm not touching Anthony. The whole. Yeah. Complicated this meeting is. Wanda will say, you know, send it to me in the day. I think so. But they don't. Yes. Yes. Test test test test. Yeah. Yeah. Yes, yes. Down. yes um
All right. Good morning, everybody. Let's go ahead and get started. We have a very, very packed agenda today. So I'm going to try to not go down a bunch of rabbit holes like I usually do when I'm standing up here. But welcome. I do want to start by saying that yesterday we met with the entire county HR team. from benefits to class and comp to all of these different things. And they went through almost three hours, right? I mean, it was a joyful three-hour meeting. But it really was. And the reason being is because what they were doing is they were coming and sharing all of their data. They did a big data analytics project. presentation to us, and we're going to share this with people. But essentially, what came out of that is that this department is doing a very, very good job.
And with the functions that they were talking about, I really do need to give a shout out to our PRCS HR team. because it was clear that we are leading the whole county in what we are doing with all of the different things that are happening with an HR standpoint. So I wanted to start by just giving a round of applause to the HR team because when you look at this data, When you look at this data, it shows how we are making differences and changing things and how things operate here. So great job, Liz, and your team. But I also wanted to say that one of the things that came up was some information on exit interviews. And the interesting thing about exit interviews for folks leaving our department dealt with there was a high percentage of people who were doing the exit interviews when they voluntarily leave.
You usually don't see that. Usually what you see is when, you know. I promote someone to citizen or they have been run out, they are the ones that jump at the opportunity to give feedback because they're ticked off. But these folks, we had a high percentage of people that wanted to give feedback on the department, and it was overwhelmingly positive. And that goes to the culture. And so I do want to thank each one of you because you all play a role in establishing that culture that makes people not want to leave. And that's a big thing. So good job on that. Connection before content. We have Thanksgiving coming up. next week. And I wanted to read something to you that is kind of bringing Thanksgiving and leadership together.
So this was kind of neat thing that I came across. So Thanksgiving offers profound insights into leadership, emphasizing the importance of gratitude, unity, and reflection in fostering effective leadership practices. Thanksgiving serves as a powerful reminder of the role gratitude plays in effective leadership. Leaders who express appreciation for their teams, foster a positive work environment, and enhance motivation and loyalty. Gratitude is not just a polite acknowledgement, it's a vital leadership trait that cultivates a culture of appreciation. By recognizing the contributions of team members, Leaders can create a sense of belonging and value, which is essential for team cohesion and productivity.
Thanksgiving gatherings symbolize unity and togetherness, which are crucial elements of leadership as well. Effective leaders create inclusive environments where diverse perspectives are welcomed, much like a Thanksgiving table that invite everyone to share their stories and experiences. This inclusivity not only enhances creativity but also strengthens team dynamics. Leaders can learn from the spirit of Thanksgiving to build bridges within their teams, encouraging collaboration and mutual respect. Thanksgiving also encourages reflection on past achievements and challenges. Leaders can use this time to assess their leadership journey, acknowledging the support that they have received from their teams, the practice of reflection,
