All right, good morning everybody. Let's go ahead and get started. Um got a packed agenda today with Uh some good presentations. I do want to start as I usually do with connection before content. Um As you know, many of you know I I love to spend time in the outdoors, especially when I have the chance to disappear into the mountains or get on a river and and disappear for a couple of days. And last weekend I did that. Last weekend I spent three days on the James River um on our annual Thai River Ramblers, Father's Day weekend float, twenty-one miles total. And uh when we were out there, I was once again reminded that the river as much as it is a fun time to be. is also a place where it can teach you things if you are willing to learn.

So I had a few observations from this past weekend that I wanted to share with you and some of these things are very relevant I think to work as well. And as we go into the summertime, just remember some of these things. Number one observation, nature soothes the soul. Spending time on the water surrounded by natural beauty. Can deeply calm your mind and lift your mood. That steady flow of the river can also help to reduce stress and foster a sense of peace. So the first observation was nature soothes the soul. The second was If you want to go fast You oftentimes have to go slow. The James was the lowest river I'd seen it in decades, which made fishing spectacular because it concentrated the fish in the pools of water, but it also made navigating

very challenging by concentrating the water And creating some very intense rapids. Both on the river, just like at work, patience, deliberate slow movements. often lead to better results. including sometimes getting to enjoy some pretty good w white water. Number three, celebrate the small wins. From clearing a tricky rapid to spotting a bold eagle, small victories are worth celebrating. We need to remember this at work as well. And remember that enthusiasm is contagious and can turn a good trip into an unforgettable one. I see that among my fishing buddies all the time, who all celebrate when a nice fish is caught by whoever. Or When a newbie navigates through a rapid And comes out the other side upright.

Fourth. Have a mindful presence and I think this is the most important one for us. As we move into the summertime. Without constant digital interruptions, you're able to be fully present with one another. This fosters deep connections and a greater appreciation for the moment that you're in. Put your cell phones away at times. Every night around a campfire, you know what happened? We had real conversation. And real laughter. Every day when we would stop along the river for the shore lunch, we would have real conversations and real laughter. Pulling us closer together and making those stronger bonds. Which leads into the next one, which is teamwork and communication.
