All right, folks, good morning. It is uh ten o'clock sharp and we are going to go ahead and get started. Um, I want to thank everybody for for joining us this morning. Um, appreciate everybody being online. Um, I have to say, look at what's been going on. and installed in the program room. Um, I really look forward to our meeting in September. It's it's quite the setup that they have. in the program room and uh just got a little bit more tweaks that we need to do. Uh, but I think it's going to make our our meetings so much better. But also for those that need to join us online, it's gonna make it a lot more interactive and engaging uh for those folks as well. So I'm excited about that. But uh appreciate everybody

being willing to uh be flexible and uh and shift uh to an online platform this morning. And uh and again, thank you for for joining us. Um, welcome to the end of the summer. Also, uh, we are Back in school with a number, a record number actually of CASA students. I know uh preschool is gearing up, they're starting next week. Um the summer had Outstanding uh camp programs across the board, you know, Days and Fest, but also at our sites. Um, lot of special events, a lot of tournaments, new tournaments this year. Um I have to say uh that you all continue to just do incredible things. And I know it's been a very busy summer. Um and and just wanted to thank you for your work. You know, we we opened a couple of new facilities, reopened Bless Park, opened

Ashburn Recreation and Community Center since the last time we were together. Um but you know, as as I always say, the the facilities Oh Quite frankly, as Supervisor Turner said, it's a ribbon cutting for Ashburn, world class. Um, and that's what may bring people in initially, but it's it's you all. It's the people, uh, what you and your staff, the interactions that you have with people, the programs that you're doing, that's what brings them back. And so uh just on behalf of uh of everybody here, um, you know, thank you for your continued um commitment towards excellence and those interactions with the public. Um it was a great summer and uh and I know that it's it's taken a lot uh from you all to uh continually be at that level.

So so great job um on that. Uh connection before content this morning. I'm gonna tell you a uh Just share with you a little story. Noah's gonna put a picture up. For me. There you go. All right. So uh so last weekend Um I went down to uh the North Carolina mountains. Um, went by myself actually this time. Usually I have people with me, but this time I went by myself for a couple of days. And and quite frankly, uh, Laura had told me you need to get away for a couple of days.

um hectic outside of work and and I really just wanted to get away and relax. Um wanted to take a few days to disconnect, uh catch my breath, if you will. Uh do some fishing, hiking, um, get away from people. Don't take that personally, but uh Anyhow I got to uh the place that we have down in the Smokies um Late in the day on Sunday. And as was the case, I got there and it was raining. So originally my plan was to mow the farm on Sunday so that I would have Monday and Tuesday to do those things that I wanted to do. So right off the bat, Um, I got thrown a curveball. But I decided I was not gonna let that interfere and so I drove over to Rosman, North Carolina, which is where the uh east fork of the French Broad River the headwaters are and that's what this picture is.

So on Sunday I drove over and spent the remainder of the day fishing. Two separate streams over in Rosman that I had never fished before. And I didn't catch a single trout. Didn't catch one. So I drove back to Canton that night convinced that uh I'd have better luck the next day. And so I got up early in the morning. And uh and it was low fifties degrees, the fog had set in. When I got over to Rosman, it was beautiful because the mist was coming off of the rivers and whatnot. And I had at it again.
