I feel like I should start shaking hands now. All right, well good afternoon everyone. So we're here to commend the Prince William County Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated on their fortieth anniversary. All right, but before I start I wanna commend them on an outstanding Martin Luther King Junior oratorical uh show. So round of applause for that. That was an outstanding program. Okay, so Charter on December first, nineteen eighty-four, the Prince William County Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated has been steadfast in its commitments to the principles of sisterhood, scholarship, and service for forty years. The chapter has empowered communities and rich lives through transformative initiatives focused on education, economic development, health, and wellness.

Political awareness and social justice. This a this awarded uh excuse me, it has awarded numerous scholarships to students sponsoring access to higher education and supporting the next generation of leaders. And has implemented impactful programs such as its Senior Citizens Luncheon and the Martin Luther King Junior Oratorical Program. Advancing its mission to uplift and inspire underserved communities with within Prince William County and beyond. The Prince William County Board of Supervisors hereby commends the Prince William County Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theatre Sorority Incorporated on the occasion of its Fourtieth anniversary and extends heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for continued success.

Good afternoon everyone. My name is Talia Fletcher Gay. And I serve as the first vice president of the Prince William County Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. And as mentioned, we were chartered on December first, nineteen eighty-four. So we are actively celebrating our fortieth year of service to Prince Wayne County. As well as Manassas and Manassas Park. And Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated as a whole. recently celebrated its one hundred and twelve Founders Day on January thirteenth. So As mentioned, we were founded on thank you. As mentioned, we were founded on the principles of sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action. So we are honored to receive this commendation in regards to our dedication and commitment to Prince William County.

And As first vice president, I serve over the program planning and development committees as well as the outreach committees. So our focus whenever we are planning any type of program, event, activity, is to ensure that we are prioritizing and meeting the needs of the community of Prince William County. So this commendation in regards to our 40th anniversary just also serves as recognition that we are on the right track and continue to be on the right track of meeting the needs of the community. So we are excited to do it for another 40 years and another 40 years and another 40 years. So on behalf of our chapter president, Felicia Pryor and our entire chapter, I am honored to be able to accept this commendation.
