All right, thank you everyone for joining us. It is now two o'clock. I'm gonna open the board session. I would like to invite Pastor Adam Bowling um from the First United Presbyterian Church of Dale City to give our invocation.
Let us pray. Almighty and loving God, we come before you today and give thanks for our elected leaders. We especially lift up Desandra Jefferson Kenny Bodie Tom Gordy. Yesley Vega, Victor Angry, Andrea Bailey, Margaret Franklin, and Bob Weir for their willingness to serve the citizens of Prince William County, Virginia for such a time as this. We g we thank you for the gifts that you have given to each of them. For leadership, discernment, direction, active listening, patience and tolerance. We pray for today's meeting, for the decisions that will be made, which will have an impact on the lives of so many. We especially lift up the marginalized in our county, the hungry, those without homes, the food insecure, those with physical health issues, mental health issues.
We lift up those facing abuse or a violence of any kind. Help us to be people who care for the lost and the least. For those who are often overlooked. Or who do not have a voice or a seat at the table. We offer our special thanks this day to the Northern Virginia Family Service for their century-long commitment to providing invaluable support and resources to inv individuals and families in our community. We give thanks for their unwavering dedication to addressing the root causes of societal issues, fostering resilience and uplifting communities. Grant NVFS the strength and resources to continue their vital work. And inspire us to support them and their mission to create a j more just, equitable, and inclusive community for all.
As we gather here today today to mark the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the American Revolution in Prince William County and in the town of Dumfries, Virginia. We give thanks for the sacrifices and contributions of those who came before us. We ask for guidance and wisdom as we strive to honor their legacy and continue to build a community that upholds the values of freedom. Equality and justice for all people. We lift up our veterans and those currently serving in our military.
