Good afternoon. It is two PM on Tuesday, October tenth, twenty twenty three. Before we go on to a moment of silence, I would like to take a moment of just personal privilege to acknowledge the pain and uncertainty felt by many members of our community, specifically our Jewish residents, and our residents who have family and loved ones in Israel and throughout the Middle East at this time. As community members, we must do our utmost to comfort and provide provide solace to our neighbors in times of conflict. With that in mind, please move into a moment of silence with me.

Welcome. I know we have a lot of people here for a lot of commendations and a lot of celebrations. It's always wonderful to see People happy and excited in the chamber. Um we are now on to our agenda item three: the approval of the meeting minutes from September twelfth, September nineteenth, and September twenty-sixth. Uh the chair will entertain a motion to approve agenda items three A, B, and C. So moved, Madam Chair. Second. Motion made by Supervisor Bailey, seconded by Vice Chair Bodie. Any further discussion?
Seeing none, please vote. Vote unanimous. Supervisor Franklin absent from vote. And along those lines that a supervisor Franklin is absent from vote, um, I would like to offer the standard approval to request participation remotely through electronic communication means for Supervisor Franklin um throughout the meeting today when she's available. Could I get that motion, please? So move, Madam Chair. Second. Motion made by Supervisor Bailey, seconded by Vice Chair Bodhi. Any discussion? Seeing none, please vote. Vote unanimous, Supervisor Franklin absent from vote. And Supervisor Franklin will be joining us later on in the day. We are now on to agenda item four, commendations and proclamations this afternoon.

I'm gonna begin with the commendation for Mr. Schofield. Um if Heather Schofield, uh his daughter and granddaughter Chloe Chadester, would please join me for item four A, Dennis Putting. And Madam Chair, members of the board in the audience today, we have many past co workers of John's that I'll read out and after the resolution and after comments by his daughter if all of those would like to come forward for the picture. Uh we have obviously Heather Schofield, Mr. Schofield's daughter, Chloe Chettester, his granddaughter. We have Supervisor Noe, the former Coles District Supervisor, Chief
Charlie T. Dean, former Chief of Police, Martin Briley, former Economic Development Director and Director of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership. Sharon Pandak, former county attorney, Mike Longy from Finance, Susan Ralsh, former Deputy County Executive, Joe Howard, former county attorney, Gifford Hampshire, former assistant county attorney, Kurt Speer from our office right now, Judge Angelo Haran, former county attorney, Tom Blazer, former director of transportation for the county. Mary Alice Rowan from the County Attorney's Office, Maureen Hannon from Economic Development, and I apologize if we missed anyone else from Prince William County government in the past that's geared to honor John and his family.
Thank you. Quite the distinguished group if I do say so myself. Welcome, welcome. Commendation. In memoriam and and this is long, but I'm going to read it all because it is is uh necessary to really cover all of his accomplishments. In memoriam and appreciation, John C. Schofeld. Where John Schofield, who departed parted this life on July twelfth, twenty twenty three, was not only a dedicated but exemplary employee of Prince William County for over twenty-five years, devoted to improving the quality of life for our residents, businesses, and visitors.
