So just so everyone's aware, each speaker will have three minutes to share their views and opinions regarding matters before the board. All speakers must state their name in Magisterial District or generally where they reside at the beginning of their comments. We will close the in-person sign-up list after the first 15 minutes of in-person public comments, which we have no one. So we are going to move into remote public comment time, I believe, right now. We have one person signed up to speak today for remote public comment time. I will now turn it over to Vice Chair voting.

Thank you, Madam Chair. Ms. Vann, shall we begin with the single speaker we have this afternoon? Yes, your first and only speaker is Mike Kachmarek.

Mike Kachmarek, Heritage Hunt, Gainesville. My comments today will focus on electrical power requirements for data centers, something the previous board totally ignored. I hope the new board will take this issue seriously before the county is crisscrossed by high voltage power lines. This is from the Washington Post article of December 14th concerning the testimony that was given before the approval. Compass has said its portion of the project would require as much as 1.7 gigawatts of electrical capacity when completed, enough to power 1.3 million homes. QTS said it would need about 60 percent of that capacity. Dominion Energy officials have said that demand will probably require adding more electrical infrastructure to the area.

By my calculation, that's 2 million homes. I know some have used the 500,000 figure. I'm asking you to ask Dominion for the real calculation that they use. I know there is a difference between a home that is all electric and one that has gas heat. What value do they use for electrical use per square foot for homes? And what do they use for data centers? It is likely that data centers are 250 to 1000 times more energy intensive than what is used for a home. You need this information if you want to make informed decisions. You should ask Dominion since they will have to deliver power equal to 2 million ohms. So they should, should they not consider a natural gas power plant on Page Island? Since it is okay to consume 2 million homes worth of electric power in this area,

It should be fine to produce that much power so they can reduce the need for long distance high voltage transmission lines. At least Dominion should be willing to allow a massive increase in solar power. I have a roof I can rent them for a solar array. Please get more information to make the best decisions.
