All right, we're rolling all right,
thank you everyone for coming today. It is Tuesday, July ninth. We're gonna get started. With our strategic planning work session. Um One fixed second. Wanted to thank my colleagues for coming out today and for your efforts during the past couple months. As we have launched, um and start working towards our strategic plan development process. This work session is one of the most critical milestones in our strategic planning process. The use of data Gain insight space to create aspirational for your goals. We all care a lot about our district and have done an excellent job ensuring community engagement with our residents, businesses and stakeholders through the town all control this group. However, today we must remember to focus on the county as a whole.
As we set our sights on what we want the county to achieve in the next four years, it's vital that we work together. This may require us to make compromises on certain issues. Um, your willingness to do so is paramount, and I trust that we will fully support the result of our collective efforts. Our unified outcome should create a clear, cohesive, executable plan that we can all support. This plan will be instrumental in making our county a uniquely desired place to live, work and play, and retire. Your contribution to this goal has been valuable. We need to think about the big picture in the long term. These are goals for twenty twenty eight. The county executive and his leadership team will use our goals to create objectives that break them into more specific subhables.
We the board will have a chance to review those objectives and to ensure they align with the goals we have created in the county. Our strategic plan is not just a document, but a roadmap that will share priorities. To guide our decisions. And serve as the red rock for future budgets. The impact of our work today will be felt for years to come. I am genuinely excited about our work today, and I know that you are too. I will now turn it over to the county executive to introduce our facilitator.
Thank you very much, Madam Chair, uh and good morning, uh board members. I As the chair said, very excited to be here today. I know we uh started out in January talking about this process. Uh really wanna thank uh the VIT with all the work that they have done. Um you're gonna hear from them a lot today and have already heard from them individual meetings. Uh and so I just want to express appreciation for all the work that you all have done pulling together um town halls and identifying representatives and then meeting individually with the PBI team. Uh this is, as the chair noted, a very important day in the process uh so we look forward to uh your attention and your excitement uh as we plan the county's future.
Um so with that uh PBI come on uh come on up So good morning, Madam Chair. Good morning supervisors. Good morning. Good to see you all again. We are really excited about today. My team has done a ton of work in the Gaining Insights phase, the data analysis, and the preparation for today. But I'd like to share a little bit about uh myself that you haven't heard yet. Uh I hadn't heard of the Post Guard. Uh one of my assignments was in Long Beach, California. an operations center that did search and rescue net law enforcement. participate on a at sea overnight dangerous guard bust from one of our 82-foot cutters. That was very exciting. But right up the street was Los Angeles and I was able to spend a day at the Bob Barker Prices Right studios.
And got got selected uh but did not get up on stage. And so um the door prize was a um bathroom pile uh package. If you ever tried to to do your uh bathroom pile with your spouse, uh you're gonna you're gonna see what a challenge that is. So that was quite the event. Um you've heard that I live locally? I basically So Labor Day of 96. I got to see this golf course constructed. I got to see the whole development around the constructed. One of my favorite little events is what I call foot cutting. It's basically you put the belt ball down 20 feet away, 30 feet away, and you put it until you get it in.
