Thank you, man. All right, so uh good morning everyone. Wanted to thank everyone for um for coming and gathering this morning. Want to thank county staff uh for being here, also wanted to thank our facilitators for agreeing to be part of this. I'm looking forward to a very productive two days. Um and I will stop talking and turn it over to the uh county executive to see if he has any opening remarks before we turn it over to the Right. Without further ado, then that's it, Mark. Boys. Good morning. Good morning. Thank you all very much for being with us today. We will do our best to keep this efficient and effective for you all and staff for the next two days. We've got just a little bit of introductions and housekeeping.
I just give you a heads up, we will take a break at 9.55. I'll ask the vice chair to do that so if other people can take a step away for a vote from the board. So we'll just take a break at that point in time. And so we're going to.
Built into our schedule today and tomorrow. Obviously, lunch, snacks, drinks, and things are available. Coffee and water there, and sodas and tea and other things are available back on the other side of the walls of the bar. Obviously, we understand you all agree.
We've got a few bits and pieces of best. practices we'll share with you uh regarding a few topics that we discussed with the county executive. Um we uh we hope to keep things informal uh if you have to use first names uh if you would like Uh bathrooms, uh the women's woman's restroom is up here on this floor, the women's restroom is downstairs. Uh there's also an elevator if you need to get to that. Um managing director for Virginia Institute of Government. We're part of the University of Virginia's Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service. Uh we work with localities across the Commonwealth. I'll talk a little bit about what we do here in a moment. Uh before joining Cooper Center about two and a half years ago.
I spent a couple years working at everyone's favorite state agency, the Virginia Department of Taxation, helped lead that agency for a couple of years. But my primary career was over 20 years working in towns and cities here in Virginia as a manager and a deputy city manager. So that's my background and expertise working in local governments across the Conewell. And Jane, my partner, I'll have her introduce herself and give a little bit. No, but I'm sure. Thanks, Charles. I know two of you from previous interactions with the Baco leadership module of the Certified Supervisors Program.
