What agenda items and bylaw updates were introduced at the start of the meeting?
Okay. So the only thing that I would like to add is what I what I'd like to do is um like I said, um if for the new business that we have in the final addendum put it on the agenda that we have that for the first quarterly meeting of twenty twenty four. Once we get the date we'll send it out to everyone. Um if anyone's you know I don't want to speak for anyone, but if any um uh the other commissioners if they're planning on leaving staying, they'll let the staff know and then we can put that out. and they'll let their uh prospective supervisors know. That is all I have at this point. Mr. Vice Chair. Just wanna remind the commission you all took some actions in at your last meeting to update your bylaw update your meeting schedules.
You you you need to take up at your next meeting updating your bylaws to accommodate those changes that you made. So if we can put that on that. So we so we need to update the bylaws too. Uh what I'd also like to put on that is um depending on upon um I know everyone should have gotten an email about the terms expiring and if you wanna stay, you don't wanna stay, let your prospective supervisors know. In addition to that, I think what we're gonna need to do is put something in the bylaws that if we have a vice chair or chair Leave. before it out that we can address that. You know, we'll vote on it. And then um if we're gonna um vote on the new vice uh vice chair and chair for twenty twenty four. That's all I have.
So moving on, um commissioner's time. Commissioner Stevenson? Oh well if you want to go Commissioner I mean school board member Williams. Um, I'd just like to say it's been a pleasure serving with this current commission. Uh hopefully we can um receive some new guidance from the BOCS on the direction that they would like this commission to go or how they see fit. Um and I hope everyone has a good holiday. Thank you. Commissioner Allen.
How did Commissioners Allen and Haddow announce their resignations and holiday wishes?
I will mimic that. I certainly uh I'm thankful for being appointed to the commission. I will not be renewing my term. and will resign after the term is over. Commissioner Haddow. Uh, thank you. I have nothing other than to wish everyone a great holiday. Okay. No, you you. Just a uh a couple of things I wanna bring to everyone's attention. Uh Universal Human Rights Day, that's the annual awards program. from the uh human rights commission uh will be held on Saturday uh January uh thirteenth, is that right? Twenty four yeah twenty, twenty four. So uh it will be here in the uh McCourt building and This is the seventieth um anniversary of Brown versus Board of Education. And uh city council member um Uh I just lost his name.
Um city of uh Massas, uh Smith. uh Ralph Smith. He lived in um Prince Edward County and it's a living history about what Brown versus Board Education meant. So he's gonna be uh our speaker. Uh nominations are still open, so if you go to the human rights commission website They close on uh the ninth. So if you know someone or organization that you think you know should be recognized uh for an award. Please uh go online and fill that out, submit it.
