What is the opening agenda and how is the meeting officially started?
Thank you. Now I'm going to lead everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance. I
pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under
God, indivisible, with
liberty and
justice
I'll give everyone a quick,
I'd say five minutes to take a peek.
Hello. Good, how are you?
Byron. Byron, Lori, Lance, nice to meet you.
Hey. How are you starting?
That's what I was asking myself.
I love books, but Teresa's working on this.
I love this. Somebody remoteing it?
Mr. Chairman, I'm prepared to make a motion if everybody else is ready. I couldn't hear you. I'm prepared to make a motion if anyone is
ready. Everyone ready?
Go
ahead.
I move that we receive the minutes of December 7th with any necessary corrections. Can I get a second?
Second.
Okay. Second amendment. Do we have anyone for public comment time in person or virtual? I'm sorry, a vote. All in favor? Aye. Opposed? Motion passed.
And
I apologize. And I'm glad County Exec Elijah mentioned that. Deputy County Exec, I apologize on your title. Let's welcome our new member, Commissioner Byron Shorter from Occoquan, correct? Okay. Welcome. Did you want to abstain from it?
Yeah, because you weren't here.
OK, what I'm saying.
So just going, did we have anyone for public comment? OK.
OK. So going over the old business was the final addendum. And the echo, if we could turn it down a little to feedback. OK. Okay. So the final, we were trying to get a hold of Chair Rock to see if we can get some clarification on that and what needs to be done. I haven't been able to get a hold of her and she hadn't reached back out to me. So what I'm going to do is try to get a hold of Supervisor Franklin and I'll follow up with her and see what she wants to do that. What I'm hoping we can do is figure out and maybe go to the Board of County Supervisors and get some guidance. Talk to her and then we'll get some, she can take it toward the Board of County Supervisors and we'll get some guidance on that.
Because I know they have a new board. Bring them up to date. So there was some questions on some things when we presented to the Board of County Supervisors. God, I think that was almost a year and a half ago maybe. there were some questions that Chair Rock said that she was going to answer. So what I've been trying to do is I had reached out to her to find out specifically what those questions were and what needed to be followed up on because she said she was going to take care of it. And she didn't give me that information. So without having to go through the whole thing all over again, I'm hoping I can get the answers to those questions, and then we can add that to the addendum, and then we can present the completed package to the Board of County Supervisors, because those were the only things that I think were outstanding, and I think it was Commissioner Allen.
Go ahead,
Commissioner. No, I'm
sorry. Go
ahead. No, you were going to say something. No. Yeah, Mr. Chairman, that report that we put together a year and a half ago raised concerns from supervisors who are no longer even on the board at this time. So it's, it's a point of discussion. Um, I'm not sure if, if you may want to direct the question to Ms. Burgos, if there's a port report that's ready, potentially one or two, whether this commission actually tables that report, because we did present in January of 2023, I believe, or 2022,
How are the December 7th minutes received and approved by the commission?
Um, you know, but again, some of the questions that came up were from supervisors who are no longer on this, on the board of supervisors. So I want to add that when the, um, document was presented, there were board members who had questions and that as a commission, you were taking those questions back, answering them in your document and bringing it back to the board of County supervisors. So that's where the addendum work is, has been done. to bring it back to them and it's a completed report. Because as it is, the report is filed as incomplete until those questions were addressed.
And so that, I guess that was my question. I remember being here, but I don't remember exactly what those questions were.
