Thank you, Madam Chair. Hopefully today will be uh sort of a cleanup session leading into your October twenty eighth final adoption of the legislative agenda. So we'll cover a few items here. Unless something's highlighted in yellow, it's it's carryover or language that you've already seen. Um Compared to last versions. So Prince William will oppose legislation and policies that negatively impact the county's ability to provide public safety or adversely affects transportation funding levels. Those are that'll be in the preamble section to the agenda, which all the are the traditional fors and against measures. Madam
Unknown 2:26
Chair, maybe if I can just jump in super quick. All of these items that will be on the uh presentation are all new to the legislative agenda this year. All items I believe we've talked about with the committee in the past, um minus one, which we'll we'll get into, but Um the reason that you see them here is because they were not in the twenty twenty five agenda. So all of these you while you have seen them um are just they're new to the twenty twenty six agenda for uh the committee's discussion.
Glenn (Unknown) 2:56
The transportation sections that we've answered all your questions and staff has met with your staff on these issues, the abandonment of a highway matter. The eminent domain issue. We're gonna facilitate some legislative discussions on that to see how past patrons have felt about those issues. The pedestrian and bike facilities getting one set of approvals instead of the Commonwealth Transportation Board uh having to be called in on something of that nature. Paolo's here if there's any additional follow-up questions to that. So but I think all those were self explanatory to the board and to committee. Quality of life measures. Uh I'm not sure we had language on this first one in the previous edition, did we?
Glenn (Unknown) 3:41
I didn't think so. Uh the authority to provide direct emergency financial assistance for housing. Prince William County requests legislation that provides additional authority and flexibility to provide direct emergency. Emergency housing financial assistance to residents facing flex uh uh imminent eviction or loss of housing. Um it's a good request in light of what was in the last House of Delegates report on the impact of federal layoffs. uh this is this issue touches what was in that house report So that it's a nice dovetail measured in that res in that respect. And Prince William County requests a review of all code sections addressing the powers and responsibilities of redevelopment and housing authorities to ensure their maximum level of effectiveness.
Glenn (Unknown) 4:29
It's my understanding that the last time this code section was reviewed. was twenty years ago. So it might be some validity in in delving into that or making that recommendation to members of our delegation. Any questions about the emergency housing? Measure since that's new language. And there might be some language uh coming out of our our neighboring jurisdictions that dovetails with that as well. This is a new request. Designation of the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail as a General Assembly prioritized trail. Prince William County requests that the General Assembly designate. The Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail is a prioritized trail.
