My wife is a school's employee. School's employee, my wife and I are members of a group which is affected by this matter. I will be participating in this matter because I am able to do so fairly, objectively in the public interest.

Okay. All right, we will now move into discussion item um number three, three A, update on the Board of County Supervisors. uh legislative items. Turn it over to Mr Glenloop.
Um Chair and Madam Chair and members of the committee. The purpose of this uh is to go over a few of the items that you brought up from the dais uh during the course of the last meeting. So it's more the uh items that you personally brought up during the course of of that discussion. And then we're gonna after we go through those bullet points, we're going to discuss uh very briefly the uh federal impact study committees of the General Assembly. First ones on the in the quality of life section. Uh we covered these with your s respective staff. So the question of uh billboards was brought up by Supervisor Bailey. Uh we covered that with her staff and transportation explained the nuances and financial realities and legal realities surrounding that issue, I think that we covered that ade adequately.
Uh rede redevelopment first rate of refusal of transportation, I think Rick's uh also said he covered that with your staff. So I think that's that's been properly clarified. The role of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership with regard to taking housing into consideration when doing site selection activities. Supervisor, you brought that one up. Uh I provided there was a uh governor's executive order on that very subject with regard to the site development projects that VEDP is involved with that they should take housing into consideration. when undertaking those types of uh of projects. So what we're gonna do is since there's a new administration coming on board, float uh no matter who wins.
a similar executive order but make it a little broader and also we understand that the Virginia econom Virginia Economic Development Association will also have a housing piece linked to the linked to this in their platform.

This was also Supervisor Bailey, I believe, regarding uh your staff has discovered. that the redevelopment and housing local government redevelopment housing authority legis statute has not been revised in approximately twenty years. Uh so with that There I consulted with our friends at the Virginia Association of Counties on that and they think They think that some of that could have been covered in the J. Lark study of the Virginia Housing Development Authority. And the affordable housing study that JLORC recently completed, but we still want to verify that. And we're gonna discuss this with some members of the legislative delegation to see if there's some interest in undertaking such a review.
