Um I have to read a little blurb before we actually start our meeting. Uh this meeting will be recorded. The Zoom application will notify you that this meeting is being recorded. So welcome everyone and I'd like to call the meeting of the Economic Development and Marketing Committee to order. Uh we're having some technical difficulties today. So instead of using the screen here. Uh our staff is going to be passing out some copies of the slides. So hopefully they're at every table or I think we have some additional Packets up here, is that true? Oh, okay, at the check-in table as well. So um roll call. I see all members are present here. Uh we first will uh deal with the consent calendar, uh approval of the December eighth, twenty twenty five Economic Development and Marketing Committee ad hoc minutes.

Pretty much everything's on our agenda. So does anyone have anything besides Talking about Super Bowl and World Cup. The moment. We have anyone online? Okay. Great, we're gonna get right into it now. We're gonna start with a staff presentation, discussion and direction on the citywide 2026 economic development and community engagement. Is that Paulina? Yes. Paulina. Good
good afternoon, everyone. Happy New Year's. Welcome and uh excited to get the year started for twenty twenty six. Wanted to um begin just going over the agenda and what we're gonna be covering today on slide two. Um recap of what we've done so far to date as the committee work and the input that's been provided. Next, we're gonna go over um some of the or updates on some of the staff efforts that are underway uh for the Where the Mission Meets the Moment campaign. Um, including sponsorships, budget, FIFA, watch parties, event producers, corridor art update, lunar new year, um, and then the STEM event. Um, we will also then be discussing uh the global relations, the World Cup related, um, the city's economic development global marketing effort that's gonna be presented by the economic development team.
And then uh we established a global relations subcommittee at the last meeting, and we are gonna be going over a little bit of the roles for that subcommittee. And so with that, I will get started. Um so what we've done so far, um we've I think everyone here has been in a lot of the meetings, but I'll just cover it anyway. We've uh developed and confirmed the slogan and logo for the um where the mission meets the moment campaign. We have secured seed funding for major community events and art activations and the amount of a million dollars. Um we've had pres or we've been present at various events since uh this since September of this year, starting from the Art and Wine Festival, Parade of Champions, the holiday tree lighting, um, with the last one being uh Tu momento tu jugada last month at the youth soccer park kicking off um the uh the FIFA World Cup uh tour bus that they're doing, soccer clinics throughout the country.
Um and we've also uh shared that our street banners have gone up and they're all along El Camino. We're also working on getting street uh banners up at City Hall and so those are underway. Next. Um, sponsorship package.
