Do I need a microphone? Okay. Hi, I'm Joanne Davis, Executive Director of the Santa Clara City Library Foundation and Friends with a few announcements tonight for the board. Um

How is the consent calendar approved and what motions are made?

Really exciting news is Monday we will have our next Monday we will have our first book sale at the Mission Branch. We're really excited about that. Um it'll be from ten AM to two. It's gonna coincide um similar to what we do at Northside, where it there's a story time at that time, and so we'll be selling books there. Um April seventeenth, which is a Friday and eighteenth Saturday, we will have book sales at the Central Park Library. We will not have a sale on Sunday, April nineteenth, because the library will be closed for the STEM zone, which is happening at the convention center. And then of course our um 25th anniversary celebration on May 16th at the Triton Museum, 6 to 9 p.m., our special guest is Alexis Madrigal, who's co-host of KQED's forum and also a noted author and

Um journalist. Uh on April first, which is Library Giving Day, we had trivia our first trivia night at Tap Lands in Santa Clara. And um it was a full house. It was super fun. We made eight hundred dollars in raffle ticket sales. And then in addition, we'll be getting fifteen percent of the take for that evening. So we don't haven't received that yet, but I'm There was there was um a lot of people there. So I'm sure it's gonna be a a good evening. Everyone had a great time and everyone wants to do it again. And I think Matt, the owner of TAP Lands, was really happy as well because it's usually a slow night for him and to have that many people and people who had never been there before um come in, you know.

Thank you. Um We're delighted to have Shanti Baskaran here, who is going to be sharing with you um We always love the Reed Santa Clara program. But uh you know, as you know. As a preface to all of this, um, our federal we rely quite a bit on federal funding that um has actually disappeared for a good portion. of the work that Shanti's team is doing right now. So we actually um wanted to give you some information about how we're trying to uh regroup and get some more funding, but we also need your help. So um thank you for the time tonight and uh we'll hand it over to Shanti. And and Shanti, I think pick for the record. Yeah, you've got the mic. Okay.

And so uh thank you for giving us the opportunity to um share uh an update about Reed Santa Clara. And as you can see from our title, this is the need for funding support. Uh, for our program. Um So Sammy, if you don't mind advancing the slides. So as um just a reminder, this is why we exist. This is our community need.
