Why was the meeting delayed by audio and connection problems at the start?

Rafael Mandelman 7:11
Um hello?
Kai 7:14
Can you hear me? Uh also like I can't hear any voice, any sound throughout the meeting. I think you were showing like slides. And all that, I don't know if you can hear me. Uh, but we couldn't hear you at all. Um, I know you were showing like slides. Probably introducing like the project, et cetera. But I couldn't hear anything. Um can you track
Kai 7:47
Can you shut
Rafael Mandelman 7:49
Does that help at all?
Kai 7:50
Okay, now I can hear you.
Sheldon / Hearing Officer 7:54
Okay. Okay.
Kai 7:56
Uh so can you elaborate what just happened? Like what's the procedure? I guess I raise a hand to just letting you know that on in the Zoom meet Zoom meeting room we couldn't hear any Audio? So we wasn't we weren't sure about like the process of the meeting and You know, when to kind of You know, speak out.
Sheldon / Hearing Officer 8:20
I appreciate that. We have a new setup and it's gonna be really awful in this room. Because of the echo. But you guys
Kai 8:29
I I hear that I hear that goes well.
Sheldon / Hearing Officer 8:32
Okay, okay. But when you're talking about hearing that. So sorry,
Kai 8:39
what was that?
Sheldon / Hearing Officer 8:40
Yeah, well you're talking and you don't hear any any echo. It's just good.
Kai 8:44
Okay, that's good.
Sheldon / Hearing Officer 8:47
Uh you saw the slides, so I think that's generally what the Uh description of the project as
Kai 8:57
Okay. And we're talking about the project on Oot Hemp, right?
Sheldon / Hearing Officer 9:06
So hello to go ahead and uh talk. About the project.
Kai 9:14
Okay, you said like I can go ahead and talk about this project. Okay, cool. Thank you. Yeah, um, so yeah, my name's Kai, um, and I live at seven forty-three Hamilton Lane. So um our house is actually directly behind the proposed. project. So um I again I couldn't hear you so um couldn't hear what you spoke. But I I from I read the the basically the stuff report and really appreciate some, you know, round of like revision that you had been working with the applicant. Uh for example like some reduced, you know, um deck size, increase it back and modifying some of the windows. But still I think I look at the latest revision of the project and still unfortunately I I oppose uh approving the project in its current state.
Kai 10:01
Because I don't think um those revisions fully addressed uh all the concerns that we have as like neighboring homes. And my um biggest concern is privacy still. So I know like you made some addression, for example, um Using like the frosted windows and all that. But what I wanted to emphasize is that privacy is not just about, you know, like individual windows, like how many windows and how Do they look like? The proposed like second story ADU actually uh introduced like a some unusual exterior staircase. Um and an upper lever level like entrance so people can just like go up and down. Second floor leaving space. So these kind of features actually create elevated daily activity, movement. and the views that simply do not exist today.
Kai 10:53
So maybe them there is some like there's no like direct overlook, but still I feel impacted as like the mi directive directly adjacent neighbor home because like the act for us, like the activity in backyard will be impacted and the enjoyment in backyard will be uh significantly pet it. And then um I guess the second concern is about the neighborhood compatibility. So the report um did indicate that the east side of the home is prime like like combination of single story and a second story, which I noticed as well. But I think the east side isn't really comparable because they usually sh have like a larger lot. I think generally over six thousand square footage, like square foot lot. But uh we're actually at the west side and most of the west side homes actually only have
Kai 11:49
around like five thousand five five thousand twenty two hundred square foot lot. So it's like much smaller than the east side. That's why majority of the homes at the or almost all all of that, all of the homes on the west side is actually one single, like single story homes. Um, it's less setback between like the fence and the actual living space. So having like a second floor. home and ADU could impact, you know, like may make it like feel more crowded and um doesn't really fit fit the neighborhood um characters c character. Um that's I guess like my second um concern.
