Uh discussion and possible action on the youth commission fiscal year 2025, 26 work plan and goals. Those of you who've been on the commission, please kind of bear with me as I give a general overview of this part of the process. This is where we are going to begin brainstorming what the youth commission feels are important topics in relation to youth in Santa Clara. I understand, we understand that there are many issues facing youth throughout the world, which is unfortunate or fortunate, depending on how you want to look at it. But the purview of the Santa Clara. our view commission is to really look at what are things that we can try to uh bring shed light to or try to improve for youth in our community.

This part of the process will be taking recommendations and suggestions from everybody. You know, whether it's a small idea, big idea, anything in between. Okay, we're gonna record those ideas up on the whiteboard. So it could be anything. It could be anything from something related to health, to culture, to Education, we want to hear kind of just what do you what's what are you hearing? What are you feeling personally from your peers, uh, your friends at school? What what are some of those issues that are coming up that you think we should be aware of and that potentially you commission should look into uh addressing on the workplace? We'll take time to really kind of flush those ideas out and get them up on the board.

Sometimes having them written down can kind of generate new ideas. Like, oh my goodness, I didn't think of that. That's a great idea. At some point though we will start to narrow down that vision because as you can imagine there's only a so many of you and there's so much time in there. And so we will have to prioritize some of those ideas. So please don't be uh frustrated or upset that something that you put on the idea uh board isn't rising to the point. priority list. It takes everybody to kind of give that input, right? And we unfortunately have to kind of see what is feasible in the time that we have with the resources that we have. So I mean Can I get two volunteers to go up there and fight? So in past terms, the youth commission has kind of focused some umbrella topics under.

community building, public outreach and education, and youth empowerment. That's just an example. meaning let's get the small or let's get the ideas on the board and actually we can look at things and say that fun that falls under this category there's multiple things or ideas that we can put under there. So right now we're looking for, you know, if you want to do a Uh family fun run because it is engaging the community, physical wellness, uh mental health, and it can kind of attach a couple of different areas, but that's your our actual idea of how you would you know use that as a way to to connect with Right.
