We're going to move now to our general business discussion and direction on the citywide 2026 economic development and community engagement. There's been some decisions that have been made and lots of discussions that have been happening. So I'm going to turn it over to our staff to give us a status report on where we are.

Good afternoon, committee members and committee and committee and members of the committee. I wanted to provide you guys with an update on what happened at the last council meeting. Some of you may have stayed and watched until I think it was one in the morning that we went to this. Yeah, we can't remember. But wanted to provide you guys an update on where we're at. Oh, and then I need to share my screen.

So our agenda tonight is just a recap of where we the last council direction from the from the council and then an update on, or kind of a group breakout group session on a couple items that we do need input from the committee tonight. So as I mentioned, the newest update is that we have received some direction from council. And what is that direction? So this is what I believe we shared this table with the committee at the last EDMC meeting. And it's the type of event, the type of the number of the attendance that we anticipate for the event, the possible locations, and then the timeframes. So with the watch parties, we will be focusing on the FIFA sporting or the FIFA matches for the watch parties, the community concert, we're looking at April or July of 2026, the night markets, we are looking at, we could begin activating the space January of 2026 with the outdoor Plaza creation being completed in possibly March of next year.

And then with an event at the stadium, which we have a couple updates for the committee tonight on the event stadium, and then the stem bowl, we are still moving forward with the April 19th date for that event. Okay. So before I get into the the the budget, one of the things that the council provided direction on was that sponsorships are going to be critical part in moving forward with any of the events and or activations. The goal is to have the net cost to the city be approximately $1 million. And one of the things that we will be going into tonight will be the sponsor, the draft sponsorship packages. And so we're looking at corporate sponsorships as well as leveraging resources that we have to provide some of those events, including activating the 900 Plaza with some of the summer concert series that we already have programmed and relocating them to that space.

And then as you guys have provided input and we've heard from other community members that there's a strong community interest in a stadium event, which is the most significant and costly activation.
