Okay, um it is 6.02 p.m. and I'll call this uh meeting of the Board of Library Trustees to order. Uh We'll start with roll call. I I'll mention that Trustee Wayne mentioned that he uh will be late so he's not here right now. Um but we'll join us later. Um okay. Uh trustee Mohammed. Yeah. Uh trusty Trey Porros. Here. Justy Ricosa? Here. And Just in there. But we have four four four out of five members are present uh with one of each be joining us. Okay, we'll move on to our first item, which is the consent calendar. Um items in the consent calendar are approved with a single motion. Um And there will be no separate discussion unless open discussion. Well, I I was absent and it's the one item that I see, so I will abstain from voting on particular counter item.

Okay, then we will move on to the first general item uh business, which is uh City Attorney Glenn Bugan will provide a presentation about the charter review process. So I will turn it over to either Patty or Glenn to uh introduce uh Adam.

Good, yeah, you can mention one day for more yeah. I w I I I will introduce my question so I don't uh I think your introduction would be the I appreciate the opportunity to speak with you all today. I did put some notes together, so excuse me, I might refer to these. Today was a little more interesting than I thought it was gonna be, so I didn't have a chance to go through these.

So I'll have to refer occasionally uh to them. First of all, to introduce myself. I I know uh you um each of you, yeah, and and capacities. I've been yeah, you know presentation. I've been uh you've made a kind of my A twelve thirty-four presentation. If you come here on Sundays, I I occasionally take up a table over here to

to get you know work done um here in this lovely environment um instead of having to be at at my apartment or or at work. But um I am this city attorney here. I've been city attorney. uh since March of twenty twenty three now. So two and a half years. Seems like quite a f a few more than that because of how busy and intense this place is. But um very interesting um place, very interesting job. My job of course is is I I'm legal counsel to city council to all the boards and commissions. Uh to the city manager to all the city departments. including of course library and this this boarding commission. I and I of course don't do this myself. I've got a terrific staff of eight attorneys. Uh now a risk manager invented with the group, which is really great.

Two soon to be three um uh legal support, you know, staff. Um and you've of course had the benefit of that um here with um first Uruis Haro who's been or at least during my tenure, um who's been very supportive I I know of department and this group and now Really delighted to have Win Lui um uh in our shop and uh assigned to this very important department. Um appreciate her and and appreciate all of you. I am a big fan of your the this library system, a city this size to have a library, library facilities like this, have library programs like this. It's really extraordinary. Um and like I said, I benefit from it my myself coming in and hanging out. Um, tonight I'm here to talk to you about The newly initiated charter project, which I bet with how active a bunch of you are in different things, um you're probably already generally familiar with.

Well you there's a rule for you anyway that's what we're gonna talk about 'cause I do wanna talk to you about not just that project generally, but the role that your group is being asked to play, you know, in the in the implementation of the starter project.
