He played a great game.

Well, we did say that, and we agree on that, and I'm not saying he's for sure a goner, but certainly there is some momentum picking up about what might happen because the Wild is now to a point where if they want to make a big impact trade, Volstead might be or is their greatest bargaining chip.

But here's the thing that amazes me.

In the midst of having not a great night, he played 30 minutes and one second.

And just to give you some context there, folks, Quinn Hughes, who had an assist, was a minus two, and is ordinarily Brock's defensive partner, played 27-49.

Brock Faber played 30 minutes of this game.

And I'll stand by.

I've certainly seen Brock Faber have better games.

But, my God, that gives you an appreciation for what those two especially do as far as minutes munching defensemen.
