Um and then the third thing is, I mean, that really fits in the three buckets I said, you know, being visionary, an exemplar, right?
That's the business or the competency side.
And then there's the managing side, right?
Where this is that that's where trust
And everything that the thing matters.
But you know, there's a great quote from Nietzsche that I have in the book, um, which is a person who has a why to live can bear almost anyhow, right?
You can suffer the slings and errors of outrageous uh contexts and situations if you know why you're doing something, right?
Like I can walk through a sewer and if I know that it's leading to a certain point, right?
And I'm gonna, it's gonna discuss.
Me less than if I don't know why I'm walking through.
And so having that in the mind is incredibly helpful, right?
And you mentioned something earlier, right?
Short term versus long term.
So I think one of the things we always struggle as parents, I know that you have two beautiful girls four and six, and I have uh two boys eight and nine, is that like there's certain actions we can take in the short term that will make our life a lot easier, right?
They're complaining, they're yelling, they're screaming, give them the phone.
And it'll be their pacifier for a couple of minutes, but it doesn't set them up to be able to handle distress in the future, right?
So the question is if we have the idea of ultimately being a great father or parent who helps our kids thrive in the future, that helps us make different choices than if we're just focused on our immediate state.
So being visionary for ourselves and for others really matters because it changes the
type of calculus that we do.
But we also have to be really good at our jobs.
