write a a job application after they'd written about power and we had a great cover story like
We're gonna have you write about this, just get you in the mode of writing, and then we're gonna have you do the real task.
So everyone's like, oh, they're just asking me to write, you know.
And so it was incidental.
Um, and then you know, before the job application, we asked people to prepare, um, you know, if I think about time are they powerful or when they lack power.
And what we found is that um and we analyzed the data in so many different ways.
Like, what was it about that prime that made them
you know, feel more super and act more super.
And it was really confidence.
So when we think about time we have power, we just feel more confident.
And that really has this transformative effect.
Um so I would say the number one thing that I've discovered is um just the power of reflection.
Um I'll give you one other example.
Uh I got fired from my job and um losing your job, being unemployed
is one of the five biggest stressors we have in our life.
It is psychologically debilitating.
But so we did a study with the Swiss um uh employment agency in Switzerland.
Yeah.
Everyone in Switzerland who loses a job has to go in person to register for unemployment benefits.
