Well, my number one thing I hate if I go to someone else's house is if they're on a diet and they punish the dinner guests by making us eat like their diet food.
I've gone to people's homes where it's like, you know, they serve raw kale salad with like grilled boneless, skinless chicken breasts.
And it's like, that's not what you serve at a dinner party.
That's fine.
It's
That's totally fine to eat that during the week, but if you're going to have people over, you have to let go of your food issues.
I mean, we all have food issues, but if you have major food issues, maybe don't host a dinner party.
I think not seeking pleasure, not finding pleasure in food, not wanting to give other people pleasure.
I mean, pleasure is the key, right?
So it's like, however you...
give people pleasure, whether it's through mixing a drink, whether it's through making dessert, whether it's through buying really cool cheeses to put out on a cheese plate.
I mean, you don't even have to make a lot.
You can just buy a lot of good stuff and put it out.
But I think it's about trying to let go of your neuroses and let go of like all your worries and cares and just creating a space where everyone can just sort of relax and enjoy themselves and not be self-conscious.
Wine.
And I'm not a wine snob.
So it's actually really nice because I know some people are like, oh, I won't serve this wine with tonight's dinner.
But I'm like fine cracking open whatever anyone brings.
If we're having fish and it's like a dark red, maybe I'll put that aside and open a rosé.
But I think wine is so easy.
