I mean, this is just like something that everybody loves, which is warm chocolate chip cookies.

So the day before I'll make a chocolate chip cookie dough, it doesn't matter what recipe.

I actually don't believe that one chocolate chip cookie recipe is that much different than other chocolate chip cookie recipes.

I think it's all about the technique.

And I think of that thing that the New York Times wrote years ago about aging the dough, like letting it rest for 24 to 36 hours in the fridge makes it better.

And it works to the dinner party host's advantage because you can make the cookie dough a day or two ahead and

And then I scoop it onto cookie sheets and flatten it and just have it in the fridge with plastic over it.

And it's just ready to go in the oven.

So I have that ready to go.

And then my favorite dinner party dish to make, honestly, is a big pot of pasta.

I always make this one with sun-dried tomatoes and cannellini beans.

That's a Lydia Bastianich recipe.

And normally I don't do things where you have to cook it while people are there.

But that one, I just get everything ready to go.

And then I think a big pot of pasta, a salad, and then warm chocolate chip cookies for dessert.

I don't think you could do much better than that.

And you don't have to make an appetizer.

You just put olives and nuts and make a cocktail.
