I was critical of the football team, whatever it was at the time.
And that certainly got people's attention, including Jim Bayon.
I mean, the way you just asked that question gave me the chills because, I mean, there was literally nothing else I wanted to do growing up.
That was it.
I loved, you know, SportsCenter, but the only thing that I wanted to do was host at WFAN.
I interned there.
Then I worked there the summer between my... I cut tape in the newsroom between my junior and senior year at Syracuse.
And, you know, they got rid of their overnight host for Saturdays to Sundays.
I submitted, you know, I called.
I knew the people who were in charge because I worked there and I interned there.
Another positive of Syracuse, by the way, you know, it helps you get these kind of internships, which go a long way.
And I remember when I found out I was going to do that show, it was a dream.
I was also ridiculously nervous.
I also knew that everyone who mattered to me would be listening.
I also knew I was ready for it.
I also was in New York that week for the Big East tournament for Syracuse.
And if Syracuse made the championship game, I would have to call my boss because it was a Saturday night at Syracuse and say, I can't do the postgame show.
And I would have gotten in so much trouble.
I mean, I don't even know if I would have survived in terms of keeping that job because I would have said, I can't do it.
So the only time in my life I ever rooted against Syracuse basketball
