For her, we'd never seen, and I remember, again, 2016, remember when Hillary Clinton was on stage with Donald Trump and he was creepy and followed her and it was just like,
It wasn't like a resounding win because people didn't know how to treat a Donald Trump that was debating in that manner.
People are going to be watching the way that Kamala Harris handles herself vis-a-vis Donald Trump, the way he
talks the way he uses his physical body.
Just think about him last week when he grabbed the water at the NABJ conference and someone else.
She's been here all along.
I'm sitting here in my office in Oakland, California, having followed and really seen the trajectory of Kamala Harris from our local DA, for our senator, to the White House.
And it is not true.
It is very true that this is who she is.
I remember her speaking in 2018 at the Netroots Conference in front of a largely progressive group.
And at that time, she spoke and then I facilitated a panel of swing state women of color who were leading voter engagement.
Her speech was fire.
So what's happening is that people are waking up to who she is.
And
They, you know, uh, she's had a relationship, uh, both in California, our great state of California with labor, like SEIU as well as the national.
And she was, she was on the ticket last run.
So she had a relationship through that.
So what's happening is people are just really seeing her fully in her power with the platform finally, um, that they're hearing.
The way that she's reclaiming the things that are near and dear to us, those who those of us who do love our country, we do believe in freedom.
And she's given us a way to talk about it right now.
