This would sidetrack virtually everything else in the Senate.

Keep in mind that you can pass something in the Senate, in the House of Representatives, and send it to the president, and it can become law.

even if he doesn't sign it within 10 days, Sundays excluded.

So maybe they could get the DHS funding deal done that way.

But there's no impetus to get there right now.

He is putting all of his eggs in one basket on trying to pass the Save America Act.

And they have to get this through the Senate.

They would have to clear a filibuster that takes 60 votes.

But there's a coalition of some Senate conservatives who say, let's make Democrats get up and filibuster the old fashioned.
