But when you watch his teams.
And you see how they dig on the puck, how tough they are on the walls, how they play in the defensive zone, how they play in front of their goaltenders.
It's pretty intense, good-looking hockey.
And it's the kind of hockey you can win with if you stick with it long enough.
And I always felt whatever went on in Toronto, I don't know.
But I felt like if he would have stuck with that group of guys, they probably would have had a Stanley Cup championship there had they stuck with him and that group of players they had.
Because I remember looking back at that team and you look at, you know, the guys they had on the right side.
It's funny, Zach Hyman, Connor Brown, Kapanen, Marner.
You know, you look at the players they had and, you know, they were just always short some defensemen.
Freddie Anderson was our goaltender.
And I always thought they were so close, and then they started dismantling it.
And you just think now, don't they wish they had Zach Hyman?
Don't they wish they had Connor Brown?
And Kapanen's bounced around a little bit, but when you see Kapanen play at his best, when he's hustling on the puck, when he's finishing checks and blazing speed,
He's a pretty damn interesting player.
So I just look at, you know, a lot of those players that left there, they had a pretty good squad and they got rid of a lot of good players.
It had to be because, you know, like teams, I don't know if they expected anyone to take that entire contract, but I don't think anyone in the league was going to because it was so outrageous when he signed it.
And, you know, he had someone's hand in his back to stick it out, and he even turned down money from the Sabres, which was more.
More money is what I should have said.
And, you know, he went to Toronto, but Toronto's the spotlights in all of that.
