And then he's going to be absolutely hammering Saruman for information.
That's, I think, where I'd be more worried about this not working to Denethor's advantage.
The text says probably to his advantage.
It must mean in that sense that he gave almost nothing to Saruman because anything he would give to Saruman, you have to assume would have eventually gotten to Sauron.
So he must've just passively received information.
That is absolutely right.
That's an important reminder, but I want to go back to this losing devotion to other persons or causes.
Remember last week, we talked about how he was interested in tools and artifacts more than people.
The fact that there's no devotion to other persons or causes, again, it's just a reminder of that red flag and like, this is a weakness.
This is a big vulnerability point.
If that's you, if you have no devotion to other persons or causes and you are more interested in domination, pride, all that, you are going to be vulnerable to this sort of thing, to the superior will and threats of somebody like a Sauron.
