And that's the thing.

The pride is a usual thing that we see.

It's very common in Tolkien as a big red flag for people.

But we're also reminded that Saruman wanted to dominate others, which just comes back to the sins of Melkor.

I mean, anytime you see those things pop up,

Heck, I would add isolation, too.

This is a guy who basically abandoned the White Council and did it as a free agent.

You could kind of throw that in there as well.

Very much.

So it's just such a danger.

And every time we see those kinds of traits being displayed by people in Middle Earth, it never leads to anything good.

Yeah, they're like vulnerability points.

Yeah.
