I mean, read the headlines that we are seeing where.

There is, absolutely.

Britain remains a place of extraordinary talent when it comes to AI and is seen as a really important market for AI companies all around the world.

And the UK government, you know, both under Starmer and now under Burnham, have made this idea of sovereign AI a really important plank of their approach to tech.

Kanishka Narayan, the new minister for AI, has been pr uh promoted to the to the cabinet.

And despite the scrapping of the department,

For science, innovation, and technology.

Clearly AI is is is still front of mind for this government.

I think the challenge will always be one of how deep these capital markets are, how big the investment that the government and others can make.

At the moment, the kind of the sovereign AI fund or project that the UK government is pursuing, I believe, is about a billion pounds.

By comparison, that is roughly if you take together all of the hyperscalers, they sort of invest about that much money before lunchtime each day.

So they would I I think the estimate is tw tends to be around seven hundred billion dollars a year.

So that gives you some sense of the enormous discrepancy between what uh a middle power state can put into a project like this and that of the hyperscalers.

I think that's a r a a lovely summary.

I also hold out some you mean you agree.

I mean I I I mean I I I think the the paper in Cycloclill is actually a fantastic uh contribution in this place and one that I think has has had a lot of influence actually in the tech sector in ways I think perhaps I would not have expected uh if you'd asked me who one of the sort of defining voices on AI might be a few years ago.

I also hold out some hope for a for a third way, um whether it's a European one or whether it is a coalition of middle powers.
