We have to make sure our marketing department has a true direction about what needs to happen with Broward County.
We can no longer depend on our partners to talk about what we do.
And we give a lot of money, a lot of grants, cities, everywhere, nonprofits, but we got to tell our story.
So I would challenge that the administrator ensures that she gets with marketing, devise a plan,
Really, we are late in the game to get us out in front of it.
I remember in the city of Merriman, I'm going to finish, when I used to turn on the TV, it would always be there was a shooting that took place here, there was a robbery that took place there.
They would never carry the good news stories.
And what I did, I took administration and we went to each of the news stations, spoke with their presidents, and told them, we understand that.
You know, sensationalism, things that happen, you know, you want to report those.
But what about the good news stories?
We got the names of individuals we need to contact, and we made sure ever since then we've had no problem getting the good news stories.
They come to our events.
When we're having a kickoff, which we did by SISdrunk, they would have been there, but you had nobody there.
And you didn't send anything to the stations even after the fact.
We have to build those kind of relationships.
Otherwise, all you're going to see from them is when something happens over at Perry Airport, that's the news they're going to carry.
Nothing good out of Broward County.
So please, let's make a concerted effort in that area.
