Thanks so much for having me, David.
I'm really excited to chat about our research on hospitality skills and looking at how AI is shaping our industries.
That's a really thought-provoking question because I think a lot of people think hospitality is just around the provision of food and drink or accommodation or probably sometimes angry chefs in kitchens as we see on TV a lot.
But hospitality is really more about that.
Hospitality is really around experience and encounters.
So it's thinking about when you go out for food or when you go to a hotel, the thing you don't remember is probably the furnishings in the hotel, or you probably don't remember that you might have had a bad hamburger.
But what you will remember is that excellent customer service experience that you've had.
It's how somebody greeted you.
It's how somebody sort of...
looked at you and say, oh, can I help you with that?
Or somebody, you know, just thinking, oh, they might see you struggling with something, your bag or something like this, and just having that encounter with you.
And that's where hospitality skills are different because it's not thinking about you being

We are managing an experience.
We are leading an experience.
But we're doing that from a very host-centric perspective.
And that helps make those encounters quite different because that is where you get that care and that's where you get that empathy coming out, which I think we need a little bit more in our world today.
And that's why, you know, the...
Importance of looking at how AI is changing jobs is important, but also what type of skills we need to enable meaningful work as we move into looking at how AI transforms workers.
So that's why these skills are really, really critical.
