But to be open to the person's sincerity and their efforts and say, I hear your sincerity in this apology and I accept it.

And again, forgiveness is a separate thing.

You know, forgiveness can happen maybe a year down the road depending on

the the size of the the wound or the hearse, you know.

Absolutely.

You know, positive reinforcement is huge.

If you want somebody to change, it's like the carrot and the stick, do I criticize the hell out of them?

Or do I say what I'd really like them to do and then thank them for when they do it?

So this idea that um, you know, the this person is constantly criticizing me, she's always giving out to me, she's always saying what I'm doing wrong.

That's never going to get you very far, constant criticism.

It's just going to really take the spark and the joy out of your relationship.

So if you can, which is difficult, change your criticism into a request.

Every criticism has an implied request.

It's just that we don't verbalize a request.

So rather than um you never help me around the house, you walk out of here and you close the door, and I'm left to do everything with the kids, ask, you know, I don't

really appreciate it if this morning you could give me a hand because I'm so tired.

I have my own things to do.

Is there any possibility that you can give me a hand?

The chances are you're gonna get that request met rather than you always, you never and you criticize.
