So that's from a therapist perspective.
But then from a relational perspective, I think again issues around domestic violence, if your partner has a propensity towards aggression or violence or control, I think that would be a red flag.
Um, certainly.
And I think
um, people who have like a lack of empathy, who aren't in any way able to hold themselves to account, to apologize, to see their part.
Where everything is so black and white, there's no nuance, there's no scope for maybe both sides of the argument.
It's not to say that you can't work with those people, but certainly I think that they're the type of people that need maybe to be dragged into therapy if they're willing to go.
Um they're not a barrier, but they certainly make relationships more difficult.
I think n not necessarily.
I mean, you can work absolutely with couples and work on them individually within the couple and sometimes that's really effective because it actually opens up this channel of empathy that one person can actually see how much the other person is struggling and and it opens up this sense of intimacy and a permission to be vulnerable in the presence of the other.
Um, but back to maybe the ideas of addiction or mental health disorders that are are untreated, I think they need absolutely to be treated.
individually and at the same time they can attend couples therapy, but they do need their own individual treatment also.
Well I've got to do that.
