And there's various ways they could try and do that.

Uh but yeah, it it is a very, very big result for the AFD.

It's a very, very big result for Germany.

Um they got forty four percent, their closest rivals, uh, the CDU, which is kind of one of the biggest parties traditionally in Germany.

It is the party of the Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

Uh they got sixteen and a

half percent.

So, you know, AFD were way ahead uh of anybody else.

Yeah, I think that is one of the outstanding questions this morning and will be over the coming days.

Um, you know, he's

his popularity is not high, uh, and that partly reflected the result overnight.

And there will be questions about his leadership and whether or not he is the right person to continue leading the CDU and the German government, um, ahead of elections, so federal elections, national elections, which aren't until twenty twenty nine.

My sense is that, you know, what happened here is going to put a lot more pressure on him, but

probably won't tip the balance, probably won't be enough.

So anyone in his party to sort of uh break ranks and and challenge him.

I if that is gonna happen.

Well, they are an extremist far right party in this state.

Uh and that is a designation that's come from German domestic intelligence.

That is not a a media labeling of them, okay?

And the reason they have been labelled that is because, you know, uh some of their members, not necessarily the frontline politicians, um, they're very cautious of of what they say and how they say it, but you know, some of their members have over
