I started an indoor air quality after company after that and grew it uh to the first year did about one point three million in business.

and had twenty five employees and after about my first year and

had some really good profits.

I got a little note from the army saying, Remember you're still in the reserves and we would like you to go to

the Middle East for about six six to twelve months.

I was faced with uh a challenge that I think most small business owners can appreciate is the fact that my business

six days without me, much less six months.

Because I was working in it so much.

So the valuable lesson I learned there when I went to sell it, even though I had a thirty seven seven percent net profit

The bottom line is uh a lot of people were very interested in it, but no one wanted to buy it because if you took me out of it

uh from a sales perspective and from an operation standpoint there there really wasn't much to buy.

So I had to d basically sell it on an earnout, which uh they were right, it went out of business.

about six to seven months later, while I was in the Middle East.

And you know, that lesson and other lessons I learned

and business and start up as well as in the army.

uh a lot of what we have today in our company, uh as far as

what to do and how to how to build a process so you're not working in it, which is really the default I think most people go to.

when they start a business is they run around trying to wear the thirty seven hats and it's very difficult for them to let go of them.
